When I was a kiddo we used to make these peanut butter chocolate chip balls that were so yummy. In hindsight, they were packed with sugar. This is my makeover of them:
Almond Butter Balls
1 C almond butter
4 TBSP arrowroot Powder
4 TBSP maple Syrup
Remove the seeds from the dates and chop them into little pieces. Combine all the ingredients in a mixer. Next, form into small balls and place in container. Set aside.
6 TBSP palm shortening
8 TBSP cacao powder
4 TBSP maple syrup
Melt the palm shortening (I like to use the microwave). Add the cacao powder and maple syrup to the melted shortening. Finally, pour over your almond balls.
You can place in the refrigerator or freezer to harden to desired consistancy. ENJOY!
